Workshop- September 20th 2-4:30pm
We are Back! First workshop in the Brisbane Arcade
September 20th 2-4:30pm
Learn the art of lost wax carving with Jess Blak in this hands on workshop in Brisbane Arcade. You will hand carve your own ring or pendant designs from wax which will be cast into silver, and returned to you as a finished piece of jewellery.
In this class you will learn the basics of designing and sculpting a lost wax cast ring or pendant. You will create your own designs with the use of carving tools, fire and your hands! This is a great way to engage with materials I personally use to make many of my pieces.
Included in the cost is two designs with a wax weight limit, access to all materials and hands on assistance. I will additionally email you a brief tutorial prior to the class to help prepare you for the class.
You can add extra pieces on the day and you can also add stones to your designs. (please no byo materials) After the class, your designs will be cast in solid silver, sanded, polished and finished in your chosen style. This is the same treatment I give all my pieces so you are essentially designing your own unique Jess Blak piece. They will be available for collection 3 weeks after the class date.
If you have any questions regarding this workshop or would like to be kept on the mailing list for follow up workshops please express your interest to info@jessblak.com
Please note people under the age of 18 must accompanied by an adult.
Bring Your Creativity: I encourage you to come with your own unique ideas for what you'd like to create—it's the best way to make something truly personal and special. While you're welcome to be inspired by my designs, please avoid copying them exactly. And a quick practical tip: if you wear glasses, don’t forget to bring them along!
Friendly Reminder: This workshop is a fun, hands-on experience focused on designing your own unique piece of jewellery. While we love creativity, please note that this session is not intended as an educational course for aspiring jewellery artists. I kindly ask that you refrain from seeking industry advice, supplier contacts, or technical techniques, as the focus will remain on the creative process of this workshop. Thank you for your understanding!
